ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LAB
OBJECTIVE: This Laboratory intends to provide an overview of the principles , operations and applications of the analog building blocks like diodes, BJT , FET for performing various functions.
This lab is offered to B. Tech / Diploma ECE/EEE/CSE students and it is specially designed and developed for the students to observe the characteristics of various electronic devices. This lab gives practical knoledge on different basic applications of electronic devices. This gives a good foundation on electronic devices to the students at the basic level. At the end of the semester the student will be able to handle any basic level electronic circuit. In this lab, students can experiment with P-N junction diodes, Zener diodes, rectifiers, filters, transistor biasing, and their properties.

DIGITAL SYSTEM DESIGN LAB
OBJECTIVE: In present scenario, digital electronics are applied in many diverse areas such as telephony, data processing, radar, navigation, military system etc. This lab is intended for practicing theoretical knowledge by designing and understanding basic gates, Adder, Subtractor, Encoders, Decoders, Multiplexers and De multiplexers etc. The main objective of this lab is to serve as a platform for designing combinational and sequential logic circuits and to study various timer circuits. A brief idea of different digital IC’s is provided.
The students also learn the use of various flip-flops, synchronous & asynchronous counters, bidirectional registers, parity generators & checkers and magnitude comparator.
This lab is equipped with equipments like Digital IC logic Trainers, Digital IC Testers, A/D converter and D/A converter kits.

BASIC SIMULATION LAB
OBJECTIVE: This is a laboratory in which students are required to show their innovativeness and understanding of the subject through software based programming. This laboratory course builds on the lecture course “Signals and systems” and “Digital Electronics” which is mandatory for all students of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The Signals and Systems course is concerned with the representation of signals and the study of the changes that occur to them as they pass through systems. This laboratory will also enable the students to learn the basic concepts and techniques in digital electronic circuits and systems.
Major Equipments required for Laboratory:
- This laboratory is equipped with 30 numbers of PCs, with licensed software likes MATLAB , Scilab.
- To Show the video tutorials, facilities like high speed internet connection, LCD Projector and high quality speakers are also available in the laboratory.

ANALOG AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS LAB
OBJECTIVE :This laboratory provides hands-on practical training in the diversified fields of Analog & Digital communication, starting from the principles of modulation up to the recent concepts of Advanced Communication Systems such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA, UWB, and Bluetooth Technology. The underlined goal is to let students experimentally explore the applications of their knowledge using excellent facilities. The laboratory consists of ten workbenches each of which contains a PC, special hardware, black & white display digital oscilloscopes (30 MHz), function generators, power supplies, multimeters, etc. All PCs are connected to the internet and loaded with software like Spice and Commsim for simulation of circuits and systems. All basic experiments can be performed related to analog and digital modulations, transmitters and receivers. Black & white spectrum analyzers (3GHz) are also available in the laboratory.

IC APPLICATIONS LAB
OBJECTIVE : This laboratory is Equipped with Linear Integrated Circuits of Op –amp and its various applications. This lab aims at teaching the students about Linear Integrated Circuit design using IC 741,IC555 Timer, phase-locked loops and implementing those circuits in real time applications. Integrated circuits are the present state of art of IC Technology. It is one of the core area of ECE and constitutes the largest applications in use today.
IC Technology has entered into every part of today’s world. This laboratory is intended to make students understand the use of different linear and digital IC. This laboratory consists of linear IC trainer kits, digital IC trainer kits etc. In this laboratory the student will become familiar with various linear ICs such as μA741 and SE/NE 555. . Through experiments, students become familiar with IC 555 timer and its applications, voltage regulators using various IC’s, IC 741 operational amplifier and its various applications like adder, subtractor, comparator, integrator, differentiator , waveform generators and filters.

ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT ANALYSIS LAB
Objective :The first objective of this lab is to get hands-on experience with physical components like bread boards, circuit elements (resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, LEDs, wires), and basic circuit building. It may appear trivial to someone who is experienced in electronics. However, the course does not assume any prior experience and hence this basic step is necessary.
The second objective of this Lab is to familiarize the students with the fundamentals of analog electronics. This Lab is equipped with a wide range of analog electronic devices, which helps the students to undergo intensive training and provides a deep insight. . In this lab, experiments for Electronic Circuits & Pulse Circuits are carried out. Electronic Circuits & Pulse Circuit experiments are designed to understand the working principles of the Linear & Non- Linear behavior of semiconductor components. It also gives the basic idea for the analysis and design of electronic circuits like clipper, clamper, amplifiers, oscillators.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB
OBJECTIVE:
Objective: Digital Signal Processing Lab is used by UG students in core and elective course on Digital Signal Processor. Our laboratory presents an opportunity for students to check out their signal processing algorithms, from students’ laboratory experiments to high-level research topics, in real situations. The lab is well equipped with 31 number of high performance computers. Software packages such as MATLAB with Simulink and Code composer studio are installed in the systems. The lab has Texas Instruments DSP kits for carrying out various advanced experiments.
The Digital Signal Processing Lab uses MATLAB tools to analyse the effectiveness of Fast Fourier Transform methods in the implementation of Discrete Fourier Transforms. We can also perform digital filter design analysis for both finite and infinite impulse response filters.
This laboratory provides a modern introduction to logic design and the basic building blocks used in digital system. It deals with sequential circuits, random access memories, and modern logic devices such as field programmable logic gates.

OBJECTIVE:
VLSI :VLSI is an assembly of millions of transistors on a single chip that works flawlessly to realize miracles as varied multimedia, mobile communication etc. The VLSI design laboratory is established with the aim of conducting research in various aspects of the ever growing field of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and establishing links between industrial companies.This lab provides basic and advanced facilities for UG coursework related experiments, in the area of device modeling, simulation and various aspects of advanced VLSI design.
ECAD :ECAD environments provide the tools for generating a physical representation of the integrated circuit from a high-level description. Traditionally, the designer starts with a schematic representation at a transistor or logical level, but due to the huge complexity of modern integrated circuits the trend is to use higher ones, such as in Hardware Description Languages (HDLs).
The lab also has a very rich wealth of state-of-art systems and tools for design and testing which includes Hardware Facilities, EDA tools and Software’s. While retaining the salient features of Microelectronics stream, this program includes new lecture and laboratory based experiments specially designed to cater to the needs of the industry.

Objective: This laboratory helps to learn how to use microwave test equipment to make measurements of power, frequency, S parameters, SWR, return loss, and insertion loss. The microwave components are used to characterize devices and system behavior.
