MIETW is committed to creating and maintaining a sustainable, eco-friendly campus that instills environmental consciousness in students, faculty, and staff. The Green Campus initiative aligns with national goals on sustainable development and responsible resource use.
Green Initiatives
- Tree Plantation Drives — Annual plantation campaigns on World Environment Day and National Tree Planting Day involving students and faculty
- Campus Gardens — Maintained green lawns, flower beds, and a herbal garden across the campus
- Waste Segregation — Separate bins for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste; students educated on proper disposal
- No Plastic Zone — Single-use plastic banned on campus; eco-friendly alternatives promoted
- Energy Conservation — LED lighting across all buildings; awareness campaigns on electricity saving
- Water Conservation — Rainwater harvesting pits and minimal water wastage practices
- Solar Power — Solar panels installed to supplement campus energy requirements
- Composting — Biodegradable waste from the cafeteria and campus converted to compost for gardens
Environmental Clubs & Awareness
- Students participate in NSS-led cleanliness drives (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan)
- Awareness campaigns on World Earth Day, World Water Day, and Ozone Day
- Guest lectures and seminars on climate change and sustainable engineering

Campus Environment
The MIETW campus at Edulabad, Ghatkesar, is set amidst a green landscape in the Medchal district of Telangana. The serene surroundings, well-maintained gardens, and tree-lined pathways make it a conducive and pleasant environment for learning.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell at MIETW actively drives green campus activities and community environment programmes.
