Entrepreneurship Development Cell

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC & IIC)

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), jointly operating as the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at MIETW, is dedicated to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students. The cell supports them in transforming innovative ideas into viable products, startups, and business ventures — equipping the next generation of women engineers and managers to be job creators, not just job seekers.


Vision & Objectives

  • Foster entrepreneurial skills and an innovation culture among students
  • Mentor students in developing startup concepts into functional businesses
  • Conduct awareness programmes in partnership with MSMEs and experienced entrepreneurs
  • Facilitate industry visits and interactions with successful entrepreneurs
  • Organise training camps, hackathons, and business plan competitions
  • Provide infrastructure and technical resources for idea incubation and prototyping
  • Build partnerships with innovation-focused organisations, funding agencies, and government schemes
  • Guide students in exploring government funding options (MSME, Startup India, NIDHI)

The committee comprises faculty representatives from MBA, CSE, ECE, EEE, Civil, and Humanities & Sciences departments, along with five student representatives from various disciplines.
