About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2009 with an intake of 60 students. The programme emphasises Industry Standard Facilities, Field Visits, and Employability as core objectives. The department operates laboratories specialising in surveying, geotechnical engineering, advanced material testing, and hydraulics, with a focus on improving concrete performance through innovative materials and recycled industrial waste. Instruction combines traditional classroom sessions with presentations, video content, MOOC courses, honours programmes, and experiential learning. Faculty incorporate advanced computing software including E-Tabs and Staad Pro through industry expert sessions. The department is AICTE-approved and affiliated with JNTU Hyderabad, and supports semester-long international internships alongside supplementary computing skill development.
