Grievance & Redressal

Grievance & Redressal

MIETW is committed to creating a transparent, fair, and responsive academic environment. The Grievance and Redressal Committee provides a formal, accessible mechanism for students, faculty, and staff to raise concerns, seek resolutions, and ensure that their rights and interests are upheld.

Scope of Grievances

The committee addresses grievances related to:

  • Academic matters — evaluation, marks, attendance, examination procedures
  • Administrative issues — fee disputes, documentation, certificates
  • Infrastructure and facilities — classroom, laboratory, hostel, transport concerns
  • Faculty or staff conduct (non-POSH; POSH matters handled by the Women Protection Cell)
  • Discrimination or unfair treatment on any grounds
  • Any other matter affecting student or staff welfare

Grievance Submission Process

  1. Informal Resolution: Students are first encouraged to approach the concerned faculty member, class advisor, or HOD to resolve the issue informally.
  2. Formal Complaint: If unresolved, submit a written grievance to the Grievance Committee via the complaint box placed at the administrative office or directly to the Principal's Office.
  3. Online Submission: Grievances may also be submitted by email to megha.inst@meghaengg.ac.in with the subject line "Grievance — [Nature of Issue]".
  4. Acknowledgement: The committee acknowledges the grievance within 5 working days.
  5. Inquiry & Resolution: The committee investigates and provides a resolution within 30 working days.
  6. Appeal: If dissatisfied with the outcome, the complainant may appeal to the Principal, and thereafter to the university or regulatory authority.

Principles of Redressal

  • All grievances are treated with strict confidentiality
  • No student or staff member shall face victimisation for raising a genuine grievance
  • Every complaint is addressed fairly, impartially, and within the stipulated timeframe
  • Anonymous complaints may be reviewed at the committee's discretion
