Examination Branch
The Examination Branch at MIETW is the central body responsible for planning, conducting, and administering all internal and external examinations across UG and PG programmes. It functions under the direct supervision of the Controller of Examinations (CoE) and operates in strict compliance with JNTUH regulations and UGC Autonomous guidelines.
Objectives
- Ensure fair, transparent, and timely conduct of all internal and external examinations.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of question papers and answer scripts.
- Process examination results promptly and accurately.
- Handle student grievances related to examinations and re-valuation requests.
- Coordinate with JNTUH for external examinations, hall tickets, and result declarations.
- Implement reforms aligned with NEP 2020 and the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS).

B.Tech (UG) – Autonomous Pattern

Exact dates are notified through the Academic Calendar published at the start of each academic year.
Hall Tickets
- Hall tickets for End Semester Examinations are issued by the Examination Branch after verification of attendance and internal marks eligibility.
- Students must have a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible to appear for the End Semester Examination (65% with medical/OD condonation, subject to approval).
- Hall tickets are distributed through the respective class teachers / department coordinators.
- Lost hall tickets can be replaced by submitting a written application to the Examination Branch with an ID proof.
Results & Grade Cards
- Results are declared within 30 days of the End Semester Examination.
- Grade cards are issued to students after the declaration of results.
- Students can view results on the MIETW student portal and the JNTUH results portal.
- Consolidated mark sheets and transcripts are issued by the Examination Branch on request with the prescribed fee.

Re-valuation & Recounting
- Students may apply for re-valuation of End Semester answer scripts within 15 days of result declaration by submitting an application with the prescribed fee to the Examination Branch.
- Recounting (verification of marks totalling) is also available on request within the same period.
- Results of re-valuation are declared within 30 days of application.
- The higher of the two marks (original or re-valued) will be awarded.
Supplementary Examinations
- Students who fail in one or more subjects may appear for Supplementary (Supply) Examinations conducted by JNTUH.
- Supplementary exams are generally held in June–July and November–December.
- Students must register for supply examinations through the Examination Branch within the notified dates.
Malpractice & Discipline
The Examination Branch enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against malpractice. Any student found engaging in unfair means during an examination will be dealt with as per the JNTUH / Autonomous Examination Malpractice Rules, which may include:
- Cancellation of the examination in that subject.
- Debarment from the current semester examinations.
- Rustication for repeat offences.
