JNTUH UGC-MMTTC Successfully Organizes One-Week Short-Term Course on Indian Knowledge Systems

The JNTUH UGC-MMTTC successfully organized a One-Week Short-Term Course on “Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) for Holistic Education” from 1st to 8th September 2026. The programme brought together faculty members and participants from various educational institutions to explore the rich and diverse dimensions of Indian Knowledge Systems and their relevance to contemporary education.

The course provided participants with an opportunity to gain knowledge across various fields of IKS, including Indian philosophy, traditional education, Yoga, Ayurveda, mathematics, science and technology, arts, culture, sustainability, and traditional knowledge practices. The sessions focused on understanding the foundational principles of IKS and exploring meaningful ways of integrating Bharatiya knowledge traditions into modern teaching-learning practices.

The programme was coordinated by Prof. V. Kamakshi Prasad, Director, DAP, JNTUH, and Dr. B. Sai Venkata Krishna, Vice Principal, Megha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (MIETW). Dr. Sushama, Director, JNTUH-UGC-MMTTC, served as the Convener of the programme.

The resource persons and experts shared valuable insights through interactive lectures, discussions, presentations, and academic activities. Participants actively engaged with the sessions and gained a broader understanding of the potential of IKS in promoting holistic education, human values, sustainability, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.

The successful completion of the programme marked an important step towards strengthening awareness and academic engagement with Indian Knowledge Systems among educators and institutions.
